Cookie Policy for LawyerNow App & Website
Operated by Zevix, Inc.
Effective Date: June 10, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how LawyerNow (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a product of Zevix, Inc., uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our LawyerNow mobile application (the “App”) and our website at LawyersNow.com (the “Website,” collectively, the “Platform”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, LawyerNow) are called “first-party cookies.” Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and when it visits certain other websites.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use first-party and third-party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons for our Platform to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Platform. Third parties serve cookies through our Platform for analytics, advertising, and other purposes.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
The specific types of first-party and third-party cookies served through our Platform and the purposes they perform are described below:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential to provide you with services available through our Platform and to enable you to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas. Without these cookies, services like user authentication cannot be provided.
Performance and Functionality Cookies: These cookies are used to enhance the performance and functionality of our Platform but are non-essential to its use. However, without these cookies, certain functionality (like remembering your preferences) may become unavailable.
Analytics and Customization Cookies: These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our Platform is being used or how effective our marketing campaigns are, or to help us customize our Platform for you. This includes collecting data on which pages you visit and what content you interact with.
Advertising Cookies: These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. They perform functions like preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed for advertisers, and in some cases selecting advertisements that are based on your interests. (Note: LawyerNow does not currently run third-party advertising on the platform that uses behavioral targeting cookies)
Social Networking Cookies: These cookies are used to enable you to share pages and content that you find interesting on our Platform through third-party social networking websites or other applications. These cookies may also be used for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Cookies
In addition to our own cookies, we may use various third-parties’ cookies to report usage statistics of the Platform, deliver advertisements on and through the Platform, and so on. Examples of third-party services that may set cookies include:
Google Analytics: For understanding website traffic and user behavior.
Firebase: For app performance monitoring and analytics.
Cloudflare: For security and performance optimization.
5. Your Choices Regarding Cookies
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by managing the settings on your web browser or device.
Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may worsen your overall user experience since it will no longer be personalized to you. It may also stop you from saving customized settings like login information.
Do Not Track: Some Internet browsers may be configured to send “Do Not Track” signals to the online services that you visit. We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit allaboutdnt.com.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update our Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Cookie Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this Cookie Policy. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically for any changes.
